START WITH THE VEHICLE [ ] Purchase or lease agreement, including all pages and addenda [ ] Delivery date and mileage [ ] Warranty booklet, any CPO warranty, and separate service contracts [ ] Registration and financing or lease statements FOR EACH REPAIR VISIT [ ] Date and mileage when you reported the problem [ ] Your description of what happened, in ordinary words [ ] Opening repair order and complete closing invoice, even if the cost was $0 [ ] Diagnostic findings, work performed, and parts or software changes [ ] Date the vehicle became available for pickup [ ] Whether the problem returned and how it affected your use of the car [ ] Any towing, rental, or related expense receipts KEEP THE FULL HISTORY [ ] Include visits where the shop could not reproduce the concern [ ] Preserve service-app messages, dealer emails, and manufacturer correspondence [ ] Save original photos and safely recorded evidence; do not record while driving [ ] Keep recall notices, software-update records, and parts-delay messages [ ] Request missing or incomplete repair orders; keep both versions of corrections [ ] Note any offer, court date, or other deadline and tell the firm about it SHARE CAREFULLY Keep originals and a private copy in date order.
